Dear Vincent Massey families, 

This week finds students quickly settled back into routines after the March break. We are all looking forward to the forecast warmer and drier weather for next week, which will see all lunch and more PE classes moving back outside into the fresh air.  

With our before and after school programs back in full swing, I want to remind everyone that students in clubs, tutorials, sports, band, etc. are not admitted to the building prior to 8am, except in very exceptional circumstances. The front doors are opened at 8:50 for all students.   

As I write this update, Grade 7 band students are wrapping up their second day of band camp. I've heard great reports from Mr. Morawski and I'm looking forward to welcoming them back this afternoon. There are many other upcoming trips and activities – please pay close attention to the updates sent by classroom teachers. 

The main upcoming field trips (Grade 7 Drumheller, Grade 8 Calgary Zoo, and Grade 9 Riverwatch) cover key curriculum outcomes and all students should attend. If you require financial assistance, please contact the classroom teacher first and we will provide support as needed. 

Next year's Grade 7 students are a focus for the coming week. On April 8, our student services team and administration will be visiting feeder elementary schools to speak with their Grade 6 classes. On April 11, we will welcome those students for tours in the morning and their families for our open house in the afternoon, from 1:30-3. The Open House was rescheduled to the afternoon due to the labour action impacting our facilities. Due to the short notice, we are continuing with this schedule and will review for next year based on turnout and your feedback.
