Dear Vincent Massey Families,

A couple of quick reminders ahead of our last week of school.

Thursday, June 26 is our last day of classes. This is an early dismissal (Friday) schedule and transportation will also follow a Friday schedule. Students will be in homerooms for the morning and yearbooks will be available for pickup for those who ordered them. Report cards will be available for viewing through myCBE on Wednesday.

Tuesday and Wednesday, June 24 & 25, are regular instructional days and we will follow our regular class rotations. Grade 8 students will do locker cleanout on Tuesday; Grade 7 students will do locker cleanout on Wednesday, please ensure your child has a bag to bring stuff home. Outdoor Leadership Program families are welcome at our year-end BBQ celebration on Tuesday evening. More information has been sent directly to those families.

On Monday, June 23, we have a number of special events. Grade 7 students will be going to Edworthy Park and Grade 8 students will be going to Calaway Park. These are full day field trips and students should attend in normal school hours. Monday's forecast is for light rain showers and we anticipate that the events will go ahead as scheduled. Students should dress for the weather as both events are outside all day. Our contingency plan, if we need to cancel one or both of these events, will be to run an activity day at the school but there will be no regular classes.

Monday is also our Grade 9 celebration event. Students in homerooms 9-1, 3, 4, 5, and 9 should be in their homeroom classrooms by 9:30. Their ceremony will start at 10am and be concluded by 11:30. Students in homerooms 9-2, 6, 7, 8, and 10 should be in their homeroom classrooms by 12:00pm. Their ceremony will start at 12:30pm and be concluded by 2pm. Grade 9 students who are attending outside of their timeslot will be provided a supervised space for the day. Please remember that we are only able accommodate 2 guests per student, due to space limitations in our gym.

Students who have been registered in Math 15 for the summer will have already received a confirmation. As previously shared, there were an extremely limited number of spots and all of our designated high schools offer this course, some of them as an integrated part of their Grade 10 Math program.

Lastly, I wanted to share the following list of summer activity options, curated and shared with us by the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth. Some of these camps are targeted towards new Canadians and those learning English; however some will be of interest to other families as well: 2025 Summer Camps, Activities

Best wishes,

David Pugh
