Weekly Update May 22

Dear Vincent Massey families,

Grade 9 students completed their first provincial achievement test yesterday. I thanked our Grade 7 and 8 students for their cooperation with our flipped schedule and increased expectations for quiet class transitions. We have 5 more PAT dates (see below), but these exams are shorter, so somewhat less disruptive to our regular schedule. Thank you to the roughly three-quarters of Grade 9 parents who completed the form regarding students leaving after PATs. We'll continue to use that information for the remaining exam days, so please don't contact us with attendance on exam days unless you want to change your preferences.

At lunchtime on May 27/28, and June 3/4, interested Grade 9 students will be able to get tickets to the community celebration event. A separate, more detailed message will be send to Grade 9 families who have opted in to receive commercial communication.

Grade 7 families will also be receiving separate communication with details about Experience Metis. This learning experience on June 8, 10 and 11 involves both at school and off site activities, covering outcomes in the Social Studies and Science curriculums.
