Dear Vincent Massey families, 

As we enter the last month of the school year, I would like to provide some updates on staffing and our planning for next year: 

·         Ms. Tracey Holstein, Ms. Shelia Klotz, and Mr. Ryan Seibel will all be retiring at the end of the current school year. All three of these staff members have over 25 years of teaching experience. We're pleased to celebrate this milestone with them, while looking forward to welcoming some of them back as substitute teachers in the future. 

·         Assistant Principal Jennifer Laurendeau will be moving to a new position as the Assistant Principal of Wilma Hansen School, the CBE middle school in Queensland/Deer Ridge. Jen has made significant contributions to our school during her time here, most notably in our literacy and EAL programming, and she will be missed. 

Some of these positions will be filled through the normal June staffing processes. We continue to see a slight drop in our student numbers, which takes pressure off a very full building. To align with our current enrollment projections, we will be returning to a more traditional structure of a single Assistant Principal. This shift will also provide some additional targeted supports for students with additional learning needs. 

A reminder that yearbooks are currently for sale until June 5. If you want a yearbook this year, please purchase before then. They will be handed out to students on the last day of school. More information on our website.

As we look ahead to our year-end celebrations, please watch your email for messages targeted to each Grade group.

  • June 11 – final Vincent Massey Music Parent Association meeting – 6:30pm in the band room

  • June 16 – Grade 9 Math PAT Part A 
  • June 19 – Grade 9 Math PAT Part B 
  • June 22 – Grade 9 Social PAT

  • June 26 – last day for students 
  • June 29 and 30 – no school for students, staff organization days and appeals, office closed for the summer from 1pm on June 30
