Dear Vincent Massey Families, 

I would like to provide you with some advanced notice of our upcoming parent-teacher conferences. This important opportunity to meet with your child's teachers and get updates on their learning will take place on November 26 (in-person, 4:30-8:30pm, at Massey) and November 27 (online, 9am-1pm, MS Teams.) Bookings are made through myCBE and will be open on November 19. A more detailed reminder email will be sent closer to the date. 

Western Canada High School is hosting an information session for their International Baccalaureate (IB) program on December 2. More information is available on their website: https://westerncanada.cbe.ab.ca/open-house. 

We have observed increased use of aerosols - deodorant, body spray, and perfume - in our hallways. These products can have a negative impact on students and staff, particularly those with asthma and smell sensitivities. We definitely encourage students to practice good hygiene, but would ask that they please use stick deodorant at school. Thank you for your support in this area. 

Our monthly School Council and Parent Association meetings were held this past Wednesday. Thank you to all who attended but particularly to those who stepped into key roles. Chris Le Bihan, Diane Jeffers, and Steph Halliday have agreed to serve as chair, vice-chair, and secretary of both organizations. Rachel Sawyer will be continuing as treasurer of the parent association and Jane Radiff will be continuing to organize our Healthy Hunger fundraisers. Several other parents are very regular attendees and help out in various capacities – all are welcome!

o    Girls Basketball semifinals 

  • November 18 

o    Boys Basketball semifinals (Junior at Arbour Lake; Senior at Twelve Mile Coulee) 

o    Band performance at Central Memorial High School 

  • November 19- Massey Wrestling Tournament (after school) 
  • November 20 – Basketball Senior Division Finals at Robert Thirsk High School 
  • November 23 – Basketball Junior Division Finals at William D Pratt School 
  • November 24 – Outdoor Leadership Winter Skills Camp Parent Meeting @ 7pm 
  • November 26  

o    Ernest Manning High School tours for designated Grade 9 students 

o    Parent/Teacher conferences after school 

  • November 27 – Parent/Teacher conferences – no school for students
